Mysore/Mysuru: Four persons travelling in a Skoda car sustained injuries when the car hit the electric pole and caught fire near Pushpashrama Junction on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in the wee hours of Sunday.

Those injured are Mohammed Ibrahim, who was driving the car, Mohammed Maaz, Syed Roshan and Mohammed Asif, residents of Mysuru, Arakalgud in Hassan district, K.R. Nagar and Bengaluru.

It is learnt that at about 4 am on Sunday, the four persons were travelling in the car from Narayana Hospital side and the car hit the electric pole on the road median, resulting in the car catching fire.

Luckily, the car occupants managed to get out of the vehicle on time and escaped getting caught in the fire which soon engulfed the car, destroying it completely.

Narasimharaja (NR) Traffic Inspector Rekha Bai and staff, who rushed to the spot, summoned Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who managed to douse the fire. All the injured were shifted to a private hospital in Jayalakshmipuram while the Cops seized the car and shifted it to the Police Station on Ashoka Road.

A case has been registered against Mohammed Ibrahim, who was driving the car when the accident occurred.
