Mysuru: Forum Centre City Mall will organise its first edition of ‘Forum Purple Run’ on Sept.30 to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease. The run is being simultaneously organised across seven Forum Malls in six cities — Mysuru, Mangaluru, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Udaipur and Chennai. Alzheimer’s is the fifth leading cause of death in people who are 55 years old, and in India, more than 4 million people suffer from some form of dementia. ‘Forum Purple Run’ is a mission to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. The event offers running distances of 3 kms (family run), 5 kms, 10 kms and the half-marathon distance of 21 kms. Participants have an opportunity to win prizes worth Rs.17 lakh.
