Mysuru: Members of Janani Trust accorded a traditional welcome to foreign tourists who have come for Dasara at Palace premises here yesterday. The foreign tourists were adorned with the Mysore Peta and were presented a rose and shawl along with Mysorepak, Nanjangud Rasabale, Mysuru Mallige and betel leaves. Turmeric and vermilion were applied to womenfolk and presented green glass bangles. The women members of the Trust, all draped in Mysore Silk Sarees, sprinkled scented water on the guests and performed ‘arati’ singing traditional welcome songs. A foreign couple from Italy expressed immense happiness over the traditional welcome and relished the Mysorepak. They expressed eagerness to go around Mysuru during Dasara. Palace Board Deputy Director T .S. Subramanya, Trust President Dr. M.K. Ashok, Members Dr. S. Nagarathna, Rupa Sampath, Savita Ramachandra, Rajeshwari Anand, Girija Bhagawan, Harish Naidu and others were present.
