Mysuru: A case has been registered at the Mysuru City Cyber Economic and Narcotics (CEN) Crime Police Station after a fraudster, posing as a Customs Officer, duped a doctor from Vidyanagar of Rs. 9.21 lakh. The scam unfolded four months ago when the con artist befriended the doctor and claimed that a valuable gift was being sent from London.
Soon after, the doctor received a call from another number, purportedly from the Customs Office, demanding payment of taxes for the parcel's release.
