Mysuru: The Department of Food and Civil Supplies, which is hosting Dasara Food Mela, will be conducting cooking and eating competitions from Oct. 10 to 18 at both Food Mela venues in city. Food Mela will be held at Bharath Scouts and Guides Grounds near DC’s office and at Lalitha Mahal Helipad Grounds on T. Narasipur Road from Oct. 10 to 18. Cooking contest will be conducted from 11.30 am to 1 pm and eating challenge from 3 pm to 4 pm at both these venues on all nine days. The Food Mela Sub-Committee will distribute the cash prize of Rs. 1,000, Rs. 750 and Rs. 500 for first, second and third place winners. A memento and certificate of appreciation will also be given to the winners. Entry is open for all and interested can part in the competition.
