Mysuru:The Department of Civil Engineering, Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), Gokulam III Stage, Mysuru, is organising a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “RS & GIS Challenges in Civil Engineering Applications” from Jan. 8 to 12. Twenty-five participants from different parts of Karnataka will be attending the FDP. Resource persons from reputed Institutions will address the participants.
Dr. A. Balasubramanian, Director of EMMRC and Professor of Earth Sciences, University of Mysore, will be the chief guest and deliver the keynote address. The objective of this FDP is to enrich the knowledge of faculty members on remote sensing and its applications in Civil Engineering. The key topics include RS & GIS Techniques, Geo-informatics, Applications in Watershed management, Coastal resource management, Urban planning and Environmental modelling.
