The Office of the District Blindness Control Officer, under the National Programme for Control of Blindness, has organised an Eye Donation Fortnight rally on Sept.7. The rally will be flagged off at the Office of the Health and Family Welfare Officer in Nazarbad at 10 am which will pass through SP Office Circle, Gopalagowda Hospital, Nazarbad Main Road, Shalivahana Road and conclude on Theobald Road, according to a press release from the Leprosy Control Officer. The National Eye Donation Fortnight is observed every year from Aug.25 to Sept.8. It is a campaign which aims to create mass public awareness about the importance of eye donation and to motivate people to pledge their eyes for donation after death.
