Mysuru: About 627 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), 12.5 litres of beer and 3 litres of arrack were destroyed by excise officials this morning. The directive to destroy the liquor was issued by Excise Deputy Commissioner Jagadeesh Nayak to prevent the misuse of the liquor.
The liquor that was seized by the excise officials from around 92 cases booked from 2011 was brought to the Excise Inspector’s Office (Range 4) at Nazarbad this morning and the bottles were emptied to a container. A pit was dug at the office compound and the liquor was poured into it. The pit was covered with mud later.
