Mysuru: Over 50 Ex-servicemen under the banner of Hunsur-based Sathya MAS Foundation, staged a demonstration in front of the DC office this morning, seeking allocation of land in Hunsur Taluk and clearance of encroachments on lands allotted to them.
Stating that the then Union Government in 1952 had announced 10 acres of land to each of 350 soldiers of the then Mysore Regiment who had taken part in World War-II (1934 to 1942), the protestors claimed that 284 of the soldiers were allotted 8 acres each in Ratnapuri 1 and Ratnapuri 2 (Chowdikatte) of Hunsur taluk, while the families of 66 others were not allotted any land.
