Ex-BBMP Corporator hacked to death

Bengaluru: Former BBMP Corporator and JD(S) leader Govindegowda (58) was brutally hacked to death by miscreants in Bengaluru on Saturday evening. Govindegowda was on way to attend a meeting of party workers at Hegganahalli at about 5 pm when miscreants who  followed him, brutally attacked him with lethal weapons even as he ran into a marriage hall on Hegganahalli main road in Rajagopalnagar to save himself. Govindegowda, who sustained serious injuries in the assault, was rushed to a hospital in Sunkadakatte, where he succumbed  a few  minutes later. Govindegowda, who was an accused in local BJP leader Chikkathimmegowda murder case, had recently come out of jail after getting bail, it is learnt.
