Mysuru: Public Health Research Institute of India (PHRII) launched a new device called Enhanced Visual Assessment (EVA) colposcopy, a mobile colposcopy which supports the routine cervical cancer screening programme with visual inspection of cervix to identify pre-cancer lesion of cervix, at a programme organised at Rajendra auditorium in JSS Hospital premises here recently.
EVA device is fully portable and weighs only 605 gms and helps telecommunication with other providers. Each patient can immediately see images of their vagina and cervix. Providers can explain what they see and why they are recommending follow-up.
