Mysore/Mysuru: Kokkare Bellur village in Mandya District that has the Kokkare Bellur Bird Sanctuary has been awarded ‘Star Village’ Award by Earth Day Network, an International organisation for Environment. The Earth Day Network’s mission is to diversify, educate and activate the environmental movement worldwide.
It is the world’s largest recruiter to the environmental movement, working with more than 50,000 partners in nearly 195 countries to build environmental democracy. The Earth Day Network has created a documentary on Kokkare Bellur village and highlighted the co-existence between humans and birds.
