Mysuru: City’s well-known veena artiste Dr. S. Vijayaraghavan will chair the 24th JSS Sangeetha Sammelana organised by JSS Sangeetha Sabha Trust from Dec. 2 to Dec. 6 in the city. Vijayaraghavan, a doctor by profession, teaches at MMC&RI and KVJ Medical College, Sullia and passionately engages himself in music. Having learnt his lessons in veena from his father S.V. Srinivas Iyengar, he has won many prizes taking part in musical concerts in his school days itself. An A-grade artiste of Akashavani and Doordarshan, he has performed in the Palace during Dasara and in several other music concerts. Among the many awards he has won include Gaana Kasturi award given by Bengaluru Ganakala Parishat and Karnataka Sangeetha Nrutya Academy award.
