Dr. Ganapathy Puranik (63), a Professor at KVG Medical College in Sullia and a resident of Kuvempunagar, passed away last night at his residence in city. He leaves behind his wife Dr. Indumati Puranik, one son, one daughter and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were performed at the foot of Chamundi Hill here this afternoon. Dr. Ganapathy had earlier served at JSS Hospital in city and had also practiced in Dubai. He was also a State-level chess champion.
