Andhra Cricket Association (CA) took control of the proceedings at the end of the third day of the four-day semi-final against KSCA XI at the Alur Grounds in Bengaluru, in the Dr. (Capt.) K. Thimmappiah Memorial Cricket Tournament-2019, played at Alur Grounds here yesterday by setting a target of 319 — to win for KSCA XI. Resuming at their overnight score of 4 for two in five overs, Andhra CA rallied well to post a total of 280 in 92.5 overs. After being reduced to 123 for six at one stage, an excellent rear-guard action by the seventh wicket pair of Shoib Mohd. Khan (87, 139b, 13x4) and G. Manish (76, 125b, 9x4, 1x6), who added 147-vital runs, helped their team's cause. Earlier, Ricky Bhui scored a useful 57 (125b, 6x4, 1x6).
Left-arm spinner and Mysuru lad J. Suchith was the pick of the KSCA XI bowlers taking four for 58. Prasidh M. Krishan, David Mathias and M.G. Naveen took the two wickets each.
