Mysuru: As part of the monthly ‘Health Talk’ series organised by Elder Citizens Council at its premises in Jayalakshmipuram, Dr. K. Kumar of CSI Holdsworth Memorial Hospital (Mission Hospital), Mysuru delivered a talk on the topic ‘Infectious diseases - How they develop, how to prevent their spreading into humans and to improve the health care, particularly for senior citizens.’
Dr. Kumar said, the infection spreads into the body through various means which include respiratory, gastro intestinal, sexual, blood borne (transfusion), skin, transplacental (mother to baby while just born). These infections spread without our own knowledge causing various health problems and sometimes even death.
