The three-day annual District Police Sports Meet organised by District Police at DAR Grounds located in Jyothinagar was inaugurated by City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subrahmanyeswara Rao, here yesterday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that it was important for the Police have good physique and balanced mind and added that to cultivate both sports played a vital role. Similar to sports, Police do not have any religion except for ‘Khaki’. It is important for everyone to involve in one or the other sports, he added. SP Ravi D. Channannavar, who spoke on the occasion said that District Police had constructed sports complex to help Police personnel to get physical fit and develop sportsmanship. Stating the that complex would be inaugurated soon, he added that the facility had 400 mts track, volleyball and basketball courts, tennis courts among others.
