Mysore/Mysuru: Sub-Registrar (East) Girish, who is an accused in the disproportionate assets case, has been sentenced to four years imprisonment and has also been fined Rs. 2 lakh by the Lokayukta Special Judge yesterday.

In 2014, one Guru Manteswamy had lodged a complaint against M. Girish, who was serving as the Sub-Registrar at the Mysuru East Sub-Registrar’s Office following which the then Lokayukta SP Jagadish Prasad had registered a case under Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, read with 20, conducted a raid and had seized various documents.
