The Department of Handloom and Textiles has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to Diploma Course in Handloom and Textiles for the year 2022-23. The course, having 40 seats, is open for male and female candidates. 3 seats are available at Karnataka Handloom Technology Institute, Gadag-Betageri, 12 at Indian Handloom Technology Institute, Salem, Tamil Nadu, three at SPKM Indian Handloom Technology Institute, Venkatagiri, Andhra Pradesh and two at Indian Handloom Technology Institute, Kannur, Kerala.
Candidates who have a pass in PUC exam along with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry subjects, pass in SSLC exam or ITI students who have completed two years are eligible to apply for the course. Selected candidates will receive Rs. 2,500 as monthly scholarship. Male candidates can avail hostel facilities. The age limit for general category candidates is 25 years while for SC and ST community candidates, it is 27 years.
