Mysuru: Strongly condemning the Government’s move to distribute eggs to school children as part of mid-day meals scheme, members of the city’s Digambar Jain Samaj staged a demonstration at Gandhi Square in city on Thursday.
Opposing the Government order on distribution of eggs to children in Government and aided Schools, they said that the order was an attempt to make pure vegetarian children as non-vegetarians. Maintaining that cereals and millets are more nutrient rich, they urged the Government to withdraw the order on distribution of eggs and instead provide other nutrition supplements.
