T. Narasipur: A devotee sustained burn injuries after he fell in red hot coal pit (Konda) while passing on it during Kondotsava at Rangasamudra in the taluk on late Monday night.

As part of Hucchagamma Devi and Lakshmi Devi festivities, Kondotsava was organised at Rangasamudra and hundreds of devotees had assembled. As part of the rituals, devotees run on Konda and a devotee, while running over the pit, slipped and fell on red hot coal. Soon, he was rescued by other devotees and rushed to a hospital where he is said to be out of danger. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media. Following outbreak of COVID-19, Kondotsava was not held since two years.
