Mysore/Mysuru: City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar has suspended a Police Head Constable and a Police Constable attached to Vijayanagara Police Station on charges of dereliction of duty. The suspended Constables have been identified as H.S. Lokesh (CHC-467) and Chandra (CPC-852).

A press note released by City Police Commissioner’s Office stated that both Lokesh and Chandra had failed to report the functioning of a popular hotel located in Vijayanagar 2nd Stage beyond the specific closing time to their higher officials on May 23.

While Lokesh was posted to collect intelligence reports under Vijayanagar Police Station limits, Chandra was posted on the first night beat patrolling.

The duo had to collect information about bar and restaurants, shops, pubs, hotels functioning beyond the fixed closing time. However, during the night rounds by DCP (Law & Order) Harsha Priyamvada on May 23, it was found that a popular hotel in Vijayanagar was still functioning late in the night.

Later, a report was submitted to City Police Commissioner against Head Constable Lokesh and Police Constable Chandra.
