Bengaluru: The standoff between the State Government and the striking private doctors regarding the proposed KPME Bill is causing untold misery to the public resulting in loss of many lives. Yesterday 13 people had lost their lives in the State and today, since morning, it has mounted to 17 with four more deaths reported.
In Tiptur, a three-month-old infant succumbed, as she could not get timely treatment. The parents holding the infant had gone from one private hospital to another. Even then, it did not get treatment. A nursing student died due to heart-related problem in Tumakuru with the private doctors not attending on the patient. One more person Jnanappa Badnal (56), a Panchayat Development Officer, also died.
