Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner (DC) D. Randeep has directed Mines and Geology Department officials to submit a proposal on constructing a safety wall around closed stone quarries. Chairing a meeting of the Task Force Committee on stone quarrying at his office here on Tuesday, the DC said that the Department should conduct a survey on open quarries and submit a report on building wall as a safety measure.
Mines and Geology Department’s senior Geologist Somashekar informed the meeting that stone quarrying was going on at 20 quarries across the district.
