Mysore/Mysuru: Sandalwood actors and real-life couple Vasishta Simha and Haripriya released the posters of ‘Dasara Doll Contest’ organised by K.M. Praveen Kumar Charitable Trust and Spirit Events, at the Guest House of University of Mysore in city recently.
Speaking after releasing the posters, Simha said “Navarathri is considered as one of the most sacred in the tradition of Mysuru, with Dasara Doll arrangement assuming significance. The mythological stories are told to the younger generation by worshipping pattada gombes in the form of Lord Lakshminarayana. The women in Mysuru are still continuing the tradition of arranging dolls at their home, thus conserving the historical practice.”
