Mysuru: Daksha College in Hootagalli Industrial Area, Mysuru, marked World Environment Day-2026 with a strong commitment to sustainability through a Campus Clean-Up Drive and Road Adoption Programme in the presence of chief guest H.K. Madesh, Development Officer at Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB).
Extending its responsibility beyond the campus, the college launched a Road Adoption Programme, taking charge of adjoining roads for regular maintenance and planting saplings to enhance greenery and improve air quality.
In addition, hundreds of saplings were planted across the campus and surrounding areas, symbolising a long-term investment in a greener Mysuru.
Dr. Jayachandra Raju, Chairman of Daksha College, highlighted that environmental responsibility is not limited to symbolic gestures but requires sustained collective action. Daksha also recognised the invaluable contribution of its gardening staff for keeping the campus green.
