Seeking fulfilment of its various demands, the Karnataka State Government Daily Wage Employees Federation has given a call for a three-day dharna (stir) at Freedom Park in Bengaluru from today (Mar.11) to Mar. 13. The demands include abolition of contract system, absorption of all contract employees as permanent staff, reinstatement of all contract employees who have been illegally retrenched, hike in HRA and DA and extension of benefits of the new pension scheme, among others.
