Mysuru: Mother India’s Crochet Queens (MICQ), Mysuru, are taking part in a huge project of donating warm cowls and caps to the brave soldiers facing extreme weather conditions at the borders. Around six women and a few students of a government school from Mysuru are contributing more than 130 sets towards this noble cause. Addressing a press meet recently at the Pathrakartara Bhavan, MICQ Area Coordinator Sharada C. Urs said that the cowls and caps are being knitted or crocheted in olive green and they plan to hand over to the Army in an event to be organised at the Army Camp in Ahmedabad on Nov.25. According to Sharada Urs, the students of the Government Girls High School, T. Narasipur, became the first and only government school in India to participate in the third Guinness World Record (GWR). They have made 50 sets of cowls and caps.
