Mysore/Mysuru: Members of Mysuru District Unit of CPI-M (Communist Party of India-Marxist) staged a demonstration in front of the DC’s office on Tuesday demanding financial aid of Rs. 7,500 per month to all poor families in the State, who are facing severe hardship due to lockdown.

Protesters alleged that the Central Government had imposed lockdown without proper planning, as a result of which poor are suffering hugely. They also demanded free distribution of 10 kg food grains per month for the next six months, extension of employment guarantee scheme to 200 days as well as to the urban areas and demanded unemployment allowance to be given to all unemployed persons in the region.
