Mysore/Mysuru: Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore (UoM)has said that 1.3 billion to 1.5 billion students and youths across the globe had been affected by the closure of Schools, Colleges and Universities over the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
Presiding over the inaugural function of Rashtriya Uchhathar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA)-funded video-conference hall, refresher course in Commerce and release of online adaption of the book “Purana Nama Chudamani” at the UGC-Human Resource Development Centre in Manasagangothri here recently, he said most Governments in the world have temporarily closed educational institutions to contain the spread of the pandemic. The nationwide closure of educational institutions had affected 72 per cent of the world’s student population.
