Mysuru: Ganabharathi has organised a Karnatak classical vocal duet by Kabekkodu Brothers Vid. Venkata Yashaswi and Vid. Vijetha Subrahmanya today (July 11) at Veene Seshanna Bhavan, Kuvempunagar, at 6 pm in memory of Sri Chakrakodi Narayana Shastry by the family members. They will be accompanied by Vid. Rupanagudi Ratnatheja on violin and Vid. Shubangh Samaga on mridanga.
Vidwan Venkata Yashaswi Kabekkodu, son of Sri Shyamaprasad Kabekkodu and Vidushi Vani Prasad, first learned singing from his mother and later received training in singing and mridanga from Vidwan A. Eshwara Bhat Kanchan. He completed his B.B.A., LL.B. degree at SDM Law College, Mangaluru.
The Kabekkodu couple’s other son, Vidwan Vijetha Subrahmanya Kabekode, also first learned singing from his mother and is continuing his training under Vidwan Kanchan. He is receiving training in violin from Vid. Venugopala Shanbhogue and H.K. Narasimhamurthy and in mridanga from Vid. Kanchan. He is a third-year student of Information Science and Engineering at Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangaluru.
Vid. Rupanagudi Ratnatheja started learning violin from Ashok Gurujale and continued under D. Pari Sriramamoorthy. A postgraduate in Music from University of Mysore, he is learning under the renowned Vidwans Mysore Nagaraj and Mysore Manjunath.
Vid. Shubangh Samaga received foundational training from Vid. H. L. Shivashankaraswamy and now pursuing advanced studies under Ganakalabhushana Vid. G.S. Ramanujan. He works as a software engineer.
