M.N. Vikram, Head coach of city’s Academy of Martial Science, who represented India in Featherweight Division at the African Open MMA Championships at Johannesburg’s Brakpan Indoor Sports Centre recently, won a bronze medal. He went down fighting the category champion Abdulmanap Magomedov from Russia ranked No. 10 in the world. With this medal Vikram increased his world ranking to No. 110. He was a part of Indian contingent selected by AIMMAA. The event was organized by International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) and Mixed Martial Arts South Africa (MMASA). The participating countries included India, South Africa, Sweden, Congo, Ghana, Russia, Bahrain and Kenya.
