Mysuru’s well-known tennis player R. Nagaraj, of Income-Tax Department, representing South Zone in the 49th All India Central Revenue Tennis Tournament at Mumbai recently, won the 50 plus and 40 plus men’s singles titles and won a double crown in the Tennis Tournament. In the men’s 50 plus singles, R. Nagaraj beat Hari Bhushan (North Zone) 6-2, 6-2. In the semi-finals, Nagaraj beat Ramakrishna 6-1, 6-2. In the men’s 40 plus singles event, R. Nagaraj won the title beating R. Sharma (North Zone) 6-2, 6-2 in the final. In the semi-final Nagaraj beat Bola Mandal (East Zone) 6-1, 6-2. In the Open doubles event, Nagaraj partnering V. Sudharshan lost to Rohan Gide & Suraj 4-6, 4-6 in the final. In the semi-finals, Nagaraj & Sudharshan combined well to beat Yameen & Rawat (North Zone) 6-2, 6-2.
