Mysore/Mysuru: City’s veteran international athlete and Mysore Athletics Club Secretary Madappa Yogendra has been selected to represent the country in 25th World Masters Athletics Championship-2024, to be held from Aug. 13 to 25 at Gothenburg in Sweden. In the 44th Masters Athletics Championship held at Pune, Maharashtra, in February this year, Yogendra bagged the gold medal in the 2,000 mts Steeple Chase running race.
He has represented the country in the World Masters Athletics Championships for 9 times, represented Karnataka for 6 times in National Athletics Championships and was also the Captain for the State team. Yogendra has also represented University of Mysore (UoM) in All India Inter-University Athletics Tournaments for 6 times and was also Captain of UoM team.
