Isolated to very light rainfall likely over the State today

Mysuru: Fairly widespread rains lashed across the city for over five hours yesterday evening bringing the temperature down. Rainwater remained stagnant in low-lying areas and no damage to properties was reported.

Though the sun was shining bright since morning, dark clouds began to gather at about 4 pm and rain began to pour from 6 pm which went on till 10.30 pm.

Areas such as Jayalakshmipuram, Kuvempunagar, Saraswathipuram, Vijayanagar, Siddarthanagar, Bannimantap, Hebbal and other localities in city received heavy rains.

According to Dr. Sumanth, Research Associate at Organic Farming Research Station in Naganahalli, Mysuru city received 3.5 mm rainfall yesterday.

Meanwhile, Mysureans woke up to cloudy weather with some parts of city receiving light drizzle since early morning today and the city resembling a hill station.

As per the rainfall forecast available today for the next 24 hours (from 8.30 am today till 8.30 am tomorrow), isolated to very light rainfall is likely across the State.
