Mysore/Mysuru: With the city witnessing increase in population and a spurt in vehicular movement, the city Police have planned to install 350 additional CCTV cameras at strategic and vantage points across the city as part of heightened surveillance and road safety.
According to City Police Commissioner B. Ramesh, at present, 52 automatic cameras which capture images of number plates of vehicles that violate traffic rules and regulations, have been installed at spots such as K.R. Circle, areas around Mysore Palace, Raja Marga, Bannimantap Torchlight Parade Grounds, Hunsur Road, Ring Road etc. This apart, 82 ordinary cameras installed at different places have been functioning, he said.
