Following complaints of differential pricing for food items in cinema halls, the Deputy Commissioner, who is also the District Magistrate, has asked all cinema halls and Multiplexes to charge uniform rates for food items and to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in their premises. They have also been asked to collect only the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) from the customers for bottled mineral water, packed foods, cool drinks and fix uniform rates for other food items.
