Mysuru: Patients admitted at city’s Cheluvamba Hospital can heave a sigh of relief as the hospital has got 25 cots which have been put at vacant spaces in the hospital blocks. Due to lack of cots, patients, especially the pregnant women and post delivery patients including just-born babies, were forced to sleep on the floor of the hospital.

Star of Mysore had highlighted the plights of the patients at the hospital under the title ‘Cheluvamba Hospital faces ‘Bed Trouble’ even as it sees rise in maternity cases’ on June 18, following which MLA L. Nagendra visited the hospital and had expressed regrets besides taking the staff to task. MP R. Dhruvanarayan, who had chaired a meeting on Friday last at the ZP auditorium, had asked the hospital’s head to submit a proposal.
