Bengaluru: Karnataka Governor Vajubhai R. Vala underwent an open heart surgery at a private hospital here on Tuesday. He underwent angioplasty in the first week of November but as he complained of chest pain again, the doctors performed an open heart surgery. The Governor is said to be recovering now.
Vajubhai Vala, whose five-year term as Karnataka Governor ended on Sept.1, was given an extension by the Centre. But as the 80-year-old Vala is facing health issues, the Centre is said to be mulling on appointing a new Governor to the State.
