Chamundi Hill steps turns into waterfall

Mysuru: It was one of the most pleasing and visually delightful sight for the nature-lovers, that too on the World Environment Day yesterday at the Chamundi Hill steps. The cascading sound of the water flowing down the one thousand steps that lead to the temple atop Chamundi Hill was music to the ears of the devotees and tourists. The heavy rains yesterday turned the steps into a waterfall as it flowed freely right from the top to the foot of the hill. As the area has turned green with greenery all around, it looked like a mini forest. Even though it stopped raining, the water continued to cascade and the joy of the hill climbers knew no bounds. The mobile cameras were out and videos started doing the social media like WhatsApp and Facebook rounds with each message trying to better the other reading ‘Chamundi Jalapatha’ (Chamundi waterfall), ‘Chamundi bettadalli Gangeya narthana’ (Ganga’s dance at Chamundi Hill). It may be recalled that a few months ago, the same scene had unfolded on the steps of Chamundi Hill.
