Mysuru: In a bid to save petroleum products, control pollution and encourage the public to use electric vehicles, Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) is all set to establish six charging units for e-vehicles on Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway and other vantage points in city.

As of now, a total of 110 e-vehicles have been registered at RTO (West) out of which seven are e-rickshaws, five e-cars and the rest are two-wheelers. As there are no charging units for these e-vehicles in city, people are not opting to buy these e-vehicles. But once the charging units are established, the sale of e-vehicles would pick up. Keeping in mind to give facilities to e-vehicle owners, charging units are being established, said CESC General Manager (Technical) V. Prakash.
