Mysuru: Marking World Cancer Day, to create awareness among people on cancer, Kanasu Foundation and Suyog Hospital together have organised a 10km run tomorrow in city. Disclosing this at a press meet yesterday, Dr. S.P. Yoganna, Head of Suyog Hospital, said that the run will commence at 6 am from University Oval Grounds and pass through Hunsur Road, SJCE College, Kukkarahalli Lake Road and back to the starting point. He further said that the run would be organised under four categories — Adults: Men & women and children: Boys & girls. He added that cash prizes and certificates would be given to winners and the entry is free. Dr. Yoganna further said that DC D. Randeep, MCC Commissioner G. Jagadeesha, former UoM VC Prof. K.S. Rangappa and City Police Commissioner Dr. A.S. Rao would be the chief guests. For details, contact Mob: 95905-45222 or 73537-56555. Rally on Feb.5: Marking World Cancer Day, MMC&RI, K.R. Hospital, Bharath Cancer Hospital and JSS Medical College together have organised an awareness rally in city on Feb.5. Disclosing this at a press meet here yesterday, Convenor Ramesh Bilikere said that the rally would commence from J.K. Grounds at 9 am on Feb.5 and will pass through main thoroughfares of city. MMC&RI Dean and Director Dr. S. Radhamani will flag off the rally, he said and added, Mayor S. Bhagyavathi and K.R. Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Chandrashekar will be the chief guests. Sanjeevini Samana Manaskara Vedike has organised a function at 11am on Feb.5 at MMC&RI Platinum Jubilee Hall at J.K. Grounds for the release of the book ‘Cancer Geddha Jeevana Premi’ by MP Pratap Simha which is authored by Ramesh Bilikere. RIMSE Convenor Swami Maheshatmanandaji will inaugurate the programme.
