The Mysore Chapter of Make A Difference (MAD) is conducting Broken Is Beautiful, an on-ground event on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) in city. ACEs are unforgettable traumatic episodes of abuse, neglect or domestic dysfunction that one experiences as a child. According to a study, it was found that Adverse Childhood Experiences were common among children placed in institutional care. Nearly 2/3rd of the respondents had experienced ACEs ranging from violence, deprivation, neglect, fear for personal safety, and abuse. Nearly 1/4th of the children were found lost, missing, or illegally working by authorities, and turned over to shelter-care. The event will be held on Sept. 22 at Rahul Convention Hall in J.P. Nagar from 3 pm. For details, contact Mob: 87928-89901, according to a press release.
