The Union Ministry of Labour and Employment has developed e-Shram portal for creating a National Database of Unorganised Workers (NDUW) for optimum realisation of their employability and extend the benefits of social security schemes to them. The Ministry has started free registration of unorganised workers from about 379 categories. Accordingly, the State Government’s Department of Handlooms and Textiles has asked the unorganised handloom and powerloom workers to register in the e-Shram portal for availing benefits.
