Mysuru: Candidates from political parties and independents rushed to file their nomination papers on the last day on Monday, for the fifteen Assembly segments going to the by-polls on Dec.5. The 15 Assembly constituencies going to the by-polls are Hunsur, K.R. Pet, Gokak, Athani, Kagawad, Vijayanagar -Hospet, Hirekerur, Ranebennur, Hoskote, Chikkaballapur, Mahalakshmi Layout, K.R. Puram, Shivajinagar, Yeshwantpur and Yellapur.
With the three major political parties announcing their candidates late, it was a last minute rush at many places. Many candidates went in processions, accompanied by a large gathering of supporters giving rise to a scenario of colour, crowds and chaos at the nomination venues.
