Mysuru: The mango and jackfruit mela organised by the Horticulture Department saw a sale of whopping 2,06,773 kg of mangoes in five days. This mela was organised with the aim of selling mangoes ripened through natural process or with environment-friendly ethylene gas, directly by the farmers to the customers.

There were 40 stalls put up for mangoes and two for jackfruit. The sale of mangoes picked up from the first day itself. In the five days of the sale — Badami/Alphonso 10,38,850 kg, Raspuri 37,955 kg, Malgova 6,505 kg, Mallika 21,280 kg, Sindhura 11,600 kg, Totapuri 1,913 kg, Banganapalli 4,250, Dasheri 13,585, Sakkare Guthi 4,935 and Valaja 900 kg, were sold.
