boy dies after getting caught

Srirangapatna: A boy died after he got caught in a hammock made from a saree at his house in Karekura village in the taluk yesterday. The deceased boy is Bhumith (7), son of Vijay Kumar. As Vijay Kumar’s second child had taken ill, the couple told Bhumith to play in front of the house and took their second child to a hospital.

When they returned, they did not find Bhumith playing in front of the house and found the door of the house latched from inside.

The couple then knocked on the door several times and even called out his name but did not get any response from inside. They (couple) then alerted their neighbours and broke open the door only to see Bhumith hanging from the saree hammock.

The shocked couple, with the help of the neighbours, freed Bhumith from the hammock and immediately rushed him to the District Hospital in Mysuru where the doctors examined Bhumith and declared him dead.

The body was then shifted to Srirangapatna General Hospital, where post-mortem was performed and the body was handed over to the parents.
