Bengaluru: Amidst the confusions over the ‘Ballari Chalo’ padayatra following the resignation of Minister B. Nagendra, State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra said that the 10-day padayatra will be take out as scheduled earlier from Sept. 1.

Speaking to press persons at the State BJP headquarters at Malleswaram in the State Capital yesterday, Vijayendra sought to put at rest all confusions over the BJP’s padayatra subsequent to the resignation of B. Nagendra, saying that the padayatra would be launched from Raichur district as scheduled from Sept.1.

Pointing out that the BJP has spoken to its coalition partner, the JD(S), regarding the padayatra, he said that he personally spoke to Union Minister and JD(S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy (HDK), when he apprised him about the padayatra.

Maintaining that the BJP’s ‘Ballari Chalo’ padayatra was not only about Nagendra’s resignation issue, Vijayendra said, the party has launched the padayatra over many corruption and maladministration issues concerning the ruling Congress. He further said, the padayatra will focus on the failures of the ruling dispensation on many fronts and the problems the people are facing due to drought and other crises.
