Forest Department invites public objections by May 25
Mysore/Mysuru: Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) has sought permission from the Forest Department to fell 137 trees for the construction of an ‘Industrial Health Centre’ within its premises at Koorgalli village in Yelwal Hobli of Mysuru taluk.
The trees identified for removal fall under Survey Nos. 10, 17, 20, 28, 29, 35, 41, 184, 226, 14, 21, 30, 31, 32, 51, 163, 165, 168, 169, 219, 222 and 230/1.
According to the proposal, the trees include 47 teak, 13 acacia, 10 mahogany, 50 wild varieties, 9 phellophorum, 6 silver oak, one orchid tree and one honge tree.
As per the Karnataka Tree Preservation Act, the Tree Officer and Range Forest Officer of the Mysuru Regional Circle have invited objections or representations from the public regarding the proposed tree felling.
Citizens can submit their objections or suggestions before 5.30 pm on May 25 either by post to the Tree Officer and Range Forest Officer, Forest Bhavan, Ashokapuram, Mysuru - 570008, or through e-mail: rfomyspublichearing@gmail.com
