Banking services will be affected in city and across the country as employees of Public Sector Banks (PSBs) have called for two-day strike on Mar. 15 and Mar. 16. As a result, banks would remain closed for four days in a row from tomorrow (2nd Saturday) and Sunday (Mar. 14), followed by two-day strike. United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), which represents nine Trade Unions, has called for two-day strike to protest against the proposed privatisation of banks. In the Union Budget last month, the Finance Minister had announced privatisation of two PSBs as part of its disinvestment plan.
